Up until recently, it has been impossible to back up your entire hard drive from inside Windows and have it restore to its original condition. This is because Windows keeps many files open and active. The restore process has been a lengthy and buggy process that will leave you with application programs that will not run correctly. In such a case, you will probably have to reinstall Windows, as well as video and audio drivers, Microsoft Office, and Antivirus software. You will also have to download all the Microsoft updates again. The whole restore process usually takes at least five hours and the result won't even be close to the same system configuration you had before the crash occurred.

Due to new technology in hard drive imaging software this issue has been totally resolved. You may now backup your entire hard drive(s) from inside Windows and have it restore 100% exactly as it was when you last ran the backup.

The Interface for most image file backup software is not what I would call “End User Friendly,” but once is it set up by a professional like myself, it can be easily used as weel as scheduled to run automatically (without your intervention). It’s fast, secure, and you won’t need to call for professional help to restore individual files, folders, or even the whole hard drive. For more information on these products, contact me.

If you happen to find yourself in a situation where your hard drive crashes and you are without a backup there are not many IT professionals that are as proficient at recovering data as I am (my data recovery rate is around 75%). This high recovery rate lends credit to my lengthy experience and to my tenacious nature.
